Raisers and their pups from Guide dogs for the blinds visited Solvang.

Puppy raisers for guide dogs for the blind organization  visited and trained their  dogs while visiting Solvang.

According to the tour leader Jack Brey, the volunteers get their 8 weeks puppies from Guide Dogs for the Blinds and  then raise them until about 16 months old. They work with pups to be well mannered , attentive obedient and well socialized and adaptable.  They use special techniques developed by Guide Dogs for the blind, a leader worldwide in training and supplying guide dogs for the visually impaired people.

Santa Maria ,San louis Opiso and Cal Poly Puppy raisers all from Guide Dogs for the Blind toured with their puppies around Solvang. They enjoyed spend ing a sunny, warm day in a dog friendly Solvang.  According to their tour leader Jack Brey their purpose of visit was socializing for the raisers and to teach and to show to their puppies about traffic and streets.

Tour leader Jack Brey from Santa Maria Puppy Raisers for the Guide Dogs for the Blinds said “we and our puppies thoroughly enjoyed the welcome that we received.  The atmosphere, ambiance, shops, and food were awesome for the raisers.  The puppies learned so much with traffic, dogs on the street, cobbled and brick streets, people eating and celebrating, and so much more to help them socialize”.
