Due to the COVID-19 Danish Days Festival will happen virtually as well as intimate, in-person experiences offered by local businesses instead of the usual grand physical festivities. All these were made to put the safety first of locals and visitors.
IDK Events, the city’s tourism marketing contractor, will be in charge of producing this year’s alternative Danish Days program. They said festival which might be renamed for the meantime in order to differentiate the event’s major modifications compared to the traditional happenings during the previous years. They will be assisted by the Solvang Danish Days Foundation to be able to still give that unique feeling of representation of the Danish heritage.
To adapt to the planned alternative Danish Days celebration, organizers are requesting Solvang merchants to create a safer line-up of exclusive arrangements such as baking classes and demos while correctly maintaining safety protocols, Danish-inspired dinner parties, and virtual events for people who would like to enjoy the annual event from their own homes.
